Activities Near By |
Within a short drive of the property there
are activities and day-trips galore. |
|
Just one minute away are endless miles of
beautiful, deserted beaches. Even on hot,
summer weekends, one can beachcomb for hours
and often not meet a soul. On the other hand
there are a number of life-guarded beaches
close by – especially welcome for those with
little toddlers. |

| For those who
enjoy hiking we have over 60 miles (100kms)
of pristine and well-marked hiking trails,
some snaking through original old-growth
forest. Other outdoor activities include
horseback riding, bird-watching, ocean
kayaking, and whale watching. Golf
aficionados could play a different course
every day and finish off with Canada’s most
spectacular course, the world-renowned
Highland Links, in Ingonish, Cape Breton. |

|
Those seeking more of a cultural bend can
check out our local, professional summer
theatre, tour an award-winning vineyard,
visit authentic fishing villages or
world-class museums such as the Alexander
Graham Bell Museum in Baddeck. Many other
day trips are possible including two
fascinating living museums: Sherbrooke
Village, a pioneer village of historical
buildings almost entirely on their original
foundations and Louisburg, a fascinating
250-year-old French fort, reconstructed with
historical interpreters. |
 |
| Beautiful
driving tours can also be had starting with
our local Cape George Trail – a lovely drive
that snakes through our impressive highlands
and genuine fishing villages. The start of
the breathtaking Cape Breton Highlands
National Park is just over an hour away as
is the ferry to Prince Edward Island. And
beautiful Halifax, the most bustling,
maritime, cosmopolitan city in Atlantic
Canada is just two hours away. |

| Many more
details of the above activities and
day-trips are provided as part of your
welcoming package. |
